Our Beliefs
We believe the Bible is the inerrant, perfect, complete, divinely-inspired Word of God. It is good for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe in the Bible as the verbally (every word) and plenary (completely) inspired Word of God and that it was written inerrant in its original languages. All portions of Scripture are equally inspired and contain no contradiction. The Holy Bible has God as its Author (2 Peter 1:21); salvation for its end (2 Timothy 3:15) and the truth for its matter (Proverbs 30:5-6). The Scriptures are our only rule for faith and practice, the supreme standard by which all conduct, creeds, associations, and ministries should be tried (1 John 4:1) The Canon, the sixty-six books of the Bible, is complete. Nothing shall be added to nor taken from (Deuteronomy 4:2; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 1:1; Revelation 22:18-19).
To eliminate confusion, all preaching and teaching is from the King James Version (KJV). We believe the KJV has been translated from the best manuscripts of the Scriptures. However, we are not opposed to other versions being used as helps in teaching.
We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God. He is an infinite, intelligent, and personal Being, a perfect Spirit, who is the Creator, Preserver, Sustainer, and Supreme Ruler of the universe, inexpressibly glorious in holiness (Ex 15:11), worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love (Mark 1:20). The Godhead exists eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections. Likewise, they are worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience (Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:25; John 1:1; John 14:1-17; I Timothy 3:16).
We believe in the deity and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, not having a human father, and He is true God and true man. He is mankind’s only hope of salvation from sin, being the only mediator between God and man. He died, was buried, and rose again the third day for our sins according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). His return for His Church, (the body of Christ), which He will take to Heaven, is imminent. He will return again to this earth to set up His Millennial reign (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:35; John 1:14; John 10:30; John 14:6; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-18; Revelation 20:4-6).
We believe the Holy Spirit to be a coequal part of the Godhead with the Father and with the Son. He is a person. He came to this earth as the fulfillment of Christ’s promise. He convicts, regenerates, indwells, seals, fills, empowers, and guides the believer (John 16:7-13; John 3:3-5; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Ephesians 1:1-14; Ephesians 5:18).
We believe that God created man in His own image by the special act of God (Genesis 1:27 and 2:7). Man was created in a state of holiness, but through the temptations of Satan, he voluntarily transgressed and fell from his holy state (Genesis 3:1-24). The consequence of this fall is that mankind is born with a sinful nature (Romans 5:19; Psalm 51:5). This sinful nature is evidenced by sinful acts, and because of this, we are completely unable to do anything to save ourselves. (Jeremiah 17:9; Luke 16:23; Romans 3:1-23; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8)
The basis of our salvation is the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18-19). We are saved by Christ’s death, but the Bible teaches it was necessary that His saving death had to be by the shedding of His blood (Hebrews 9:22).
Salvation is only by the grace of God and not by works which men can do (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5). We believe God has allowed man free agency to choose to accept or reject His salvation, (Joshua 24:15; Romans 10:9-10), and that this free agency is in perfect consistency with the grace and sovereignty of God. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9) by crying out to the Lord for salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
We believe that every true believer has eternal life (John 3:16; 3:36; 5:24; 6:47), and he is kept by the power of God (1 Peter 1:9). God gives eternal life to the believer, and he shall never perish (John 10:28-29).
We believe God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour days by speaking it into existence (Genesis 1-2), about 6,000 years ago. Everything was perfectly good until sin entered the world, and then death by sin (Romans 5:12).
We believe God later brought divine judgement on an exceedingly wicked world by a world-wide flood in the days of Noah (Genesis 6:1-9:17). At the end of time, the Lord will once again judge the world, this time by fire (2 Peter 3: 10-12), and will make new heavens and a new earth (2 Peter 3:13; Isaiah 66:22).
The Scriptures teach that God made mankind male and female (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:24), and that He designated each person's gender at conception (Mark 10:6; Psalm 139:15-16; Jeremiah 1:4-5). Both men and women are in equal standing before God (Genesis 2:23) but have different God-given roles to fulfill (Ephesians 5:21-28; 1 Corinthians 11:3). Both men and women are deserving of love and respect.
We believe God designed marriage to be a divine institution between one biological man and one biological woman (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6). All other sexual relationships are sin and abomination before God (Exodus 20:14, 17; Leviticus 18:22-30; 1 Corinthians 7:2; Matthew 5:27-28).
We believe the purpose of this church is to worship the Lord Jesus Christ by carrying out the commandments of our Lord, who has made the church to be His earthly body. We do this by:
· Exalting Christ (Pslam 34:3; Philippians 2:5-11)
· Evangelizing the lost (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16)
· Edifying His people and equipping them for ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16)
· Educating the saints (Colossians 3:16; 2 Timothy 1:13-14)
· Encouraging God’s people (1 Thessalonians 4:18; Galatians 6:1-2)
We believe that God divinely created each person at the moment of conception (Psalm 139:13-18) in His image (Genesis 1:27), and that He has a unique plan for each individual (Jeremiah 1:4-5). Each life is sacred before God, and man does not have the right to end a baby's life for any reason (Exodus 20:13; Leviticus 18:21).
God will one day bring divine judgement on those who murder babies (Luke 17:2) unless they repent (Joel 2:12-13). Until that day, as His servants, the Lord expects us to speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves (Proverbs 31:8-9) and to stand for righteousness (Ephesians 6:11-13), standing firm on His Word and speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4:14-15).
